The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 features a 640-hp, 640 lb-ft of torque Corvette Z06 supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8. The LT4 is backed by a standard six-speed manual transmission or all-new paddle-shift 10-speed automatic. The 455-hp SS version of the new sixth-generation car boasted a 3.9-second zero-to-60-mph run and a 12.3-second quarter-mile time. Those uber quick numbers will likely be improved upon with estimates suggesting a 0-60 time of 3.5 sec on the way to a top speed of 186 mph. |
The car comes standard with magnetic ride suspension, a brake-based limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels shod with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. |
The ZL1 will be available later this year in coupe only. The convertible will join the lineup in early 2017. Pricing has not yet been revealed, but the last-generation ZL1 started at a cool $67,000. |
