2016 Ford Taurus SHO

A Taurus graces this blog, are we mad? Perhaps, but the SHO isn't just ANY Taurus.

A 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine delivers 365 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm. The definition of "Super High Output" has changed at Ford, the last SHO had a paultry 235 horsepower.
The use of twin turbochargers reduced size of each turbocharger and results in diminished internal inertia, allowing the engine to avoid "turbo lag". Meanwhile, the direct injection delivers smooth engine response and surprising fuel economy.
The Taurus SHO driveline combines a six-speed 6F55 SelectShift transmission with standard torque-sensing all-wheel-drive.
The Taurus SHO's closest competition comes from the Dodge Charger lineup. The AWD, HEMI V8-equipped Charger is similar in price and performance to the entry-level SHO. The powerful Charger SRT8 can be had for nearly the same MSRP as a loaded SHO. The Charger boasts a 470hp engine however. A semi-outfitted Taurus SHO is something around $ 50,000.
