1994 McLaren F1 bites dust in New Zealand

A 1994 McLaren F1 sports car, one of the most expensive cars in the world, has come off the road on New Zealand's South Island, with an unnamed Australian behind the wheel.

The 65-year-old driver and owner of the supercar and one passenger were travelling from Queenstown to Glenorchy when the multi-million dollar vehicle lost control and crashed into a ditch. The car was quickly covered to foil photographers from recording the carnage.
The 1994 McLaren F1 is capable of travelling at almost 400 km/h and was part of a convoy of expensive McLarens travelling the country.

Sergeant Blair Duffy of Queenstown police said the car had lost control on a straight stretch of road.
